For trainees to acquire the basic knowledge and skills needed to complete vertical descents from buildings and cliff faces in a controlled and safe manner.

Tactical Rappel Training Program

COURSE OUTLINE
2 days

To provide trainees with the opportunity to learn the advanced rappelling techniques needed to complete vertical descents in a tactical ('hot') environment

TRAINING OBJECTIVES
For trainees to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to complete vertical descents in both dynamic and stealth modes.

ENROLMENT PREREQUISITES
A knowledge of basic rappel skills.

PROGRAM OUTLINE

  • Safety
  • Use of specialized equipment
  • Advanced anchoring
  • Use of a leg bag
  • Speed rappelling
  • Lateral movement on rope
  • Inverted (sneak 'n peek) rappelling
  • Australian rappelling
  • Rappel pick off and rescue
  • Ascending

Rappel Master Training Program

COURSE OUTLINE
This course is designed to cover everything you need to know to be a competent Rappel Master, and to prepare Special Operations personnel to use rappelling as a tactical deployment option.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES
To provide trainees with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to train members of their tactical team in basic and tactical rappelling.

ENROLMENT PREREQUISITES
A thorough knowledge of tactical rappelling.
